This picture shows the fight that took place between Cale Yarborough and the Allisons following the 1979 Daytona 500. This is what I liked about Nascar, rednecks competing. Everybody knows rednecks drink, fight swear and some screw sheep. I always tune in to a race hoping to see one of the first three things happen. Nascar is trying to become respectable. America embraces hillbillies. Great Americans like Gomer Pyle, Snuffy Smith and Buck Owens are all the result of generations of inbreeding. Where would this country be if Elvis were forced to keep the stock upholstery in his car? Nascar is slowly eroding the very fabric of our great nation.
