Over the river and through the woods
To Grandmother's house they went. Last week Tina's mom took my kids for the week. At first I was upset. Not mad, just bothered about not having them around. I work full time plus so I only see them for the brief span between dinner and bedtime. Monday was the sort of day that gives Monday such a bad rap. On even the worst days I can still look forward to coming home to my little girl making me chase her and tickle her until she squealed and carrying her inside for dinner. Now my wicked mother in law took that away from me. I even stayed a little late at work, that seemed better than going home to a quiet house. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised to find that my little girl was there, waiting for the chase and tickle treatment. Annie was still with her grandparents, I had almost forgotten about my other little girl, she went away when mommy showed up. I think it's important for kids to spend time with their grandparents.
Since this weekend promised to be a busy work weekend, (and it has been) I took off at lunch on Thursday so we could go for a long walk without having to stop to open fruit snacks or juice boxes or pick up shoes. The day was perfect, blue sky, mid seventies and a nice breeze. Here are a few pictures from our walk.
By the way, I think that whole "Take the kids for a week" bit is just a ploy to get more grandkids. Bless her sneaky little heart.
