You can feel it fading fast
Last weekend was gloomy and stormy, summer has returned for Labor Day. We packed up a picnic and went out looking for adventure. You never know when winter will drop out of the sky. We decided to try Empire Bluffs. The parking lot was crowded- holiday weekend- go figure. The view of Empire Beach from the overlook is one of the most common pictures of the dunes. I took one anyway, the cool thing about mine is that if you look real close, you can see the beach is teeming with fudgies.
Annie thought it would be neat to walk to the beach. She had the logistics all figured out. "Mom and I can walk down the hill, follow the beach to the park and Dad can go back to the car and drive to us." the road less traveled That is the plan they used, the only detail Annie left out was Jon going swimming with his cell phone in his pocket. I fear it is ruined. We met at the beach and grilled some burgers and dogs. Just us and about 1000 other people. We had fun, today we're going to try to go here again. It's far enough off the beaten path to be somewhat fudgie free, they seem to come back thicker every year though.
