This summer I'm taking a Plant Biology class that meets for four hours in the evening two days a week. After an eleven+ hour work day, four hours in a classroom can be a struggle. Fortunately, the material is interesting to me and the marathon class sessions are made more palatable by greenhouse labs and field trips. The field trips are scheduled throughout the semester and are essentially group hikes with lots of stops for lectures. Last night we toured a local organic farm and learned a lot about agriculture as an ecosystem. It was an eye opening experience and the four hours flew right by. As we were walking back to where we had parked, a classmate named Aaron commented that it had been a long time since lunch and that he was hungry. I agreed, my last meal wasn't doing anything for me anymore either. I pulled out my phone and spoke into it- "I'm about thirty minutes away from home". Aaron had a confused look and asked me what kind of app that was. I explained that the night before, my wife had told me if I was hungry after class, to send a message when I was on my way home and she'd throw a burger on the grill for me. Arron was quiet for a moment and then said "You have a good wife."
Hell yes I do.
