Papa is a worried man

This morning I asked one of Kevin's doctors how long they expected him to stay where he is now. There is no way to know for certain until we get a diagnosis of what is causing his trouble, we are waiting for some test results and that could be in a few days. Once we know what we have they will be able to come up with a plan to treat him. The two biggest concerns right now are lung and kidney function. His breathing has improved but he is still not breathing without help. That is also what is keeping us from being able to hold him. There are also some factors with the levels in his kidneys that will keep him here. If they can get that nailed down, there is a good chance that he can at least be transferred to a hospital closer to home. Of course a big piece of that puzzle is getting as diagnosis.
Another significant problem seems to be an absent corpus callosum. This is a part of the brain that may be responsible for his midline defects (eyes, nose, mouth, genitals etc). Of course the only look they have had of his brain so far is an ultrasound but I don't think the Dr. would have mentioned it if he didn't think it was significant.
In the meantime, we're just waiting and helping him where we can. He sleeps a lot and seems pretty comfortable. We have learned a lot in the first 3 days, we should learn more in the next 3.

Hey Uncle Kevin and Tina... Just wanted to say Hi, I am at work and Dr. Morreale was asking how you all are doing, I showed her Little K's pictures. She was also wondering if Tina received her Rho Gam shot before leaving the hospital, since it was a shorter stay? Thinking of you all.

Kevin & Tina,

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know Little K will make it through this struggle. Just keep faith and God. You know God has the answer to everything. Keep us all posted on how things are going. I know this is so hard but it will bring you closer to God. Love you both very much.
