New hardware in place

Kevin is still out of it but the operation(s) was a success. They are keeping him sedated for now. Until he heals some more, he's his own worst enemy. It will be a couple days before he is able to have food again. He will get a Mic-Key tube later. Here are a couple pictures if you're not too squeamish.
The first one is the new feeding tube in place. I hear we are going to learn how to take that out and put it in. This one is the heel they use to draw blood. It looks sore.
For the next couple days there is no holding and limited touching. We're back to observing and talking to him. He likes to hear our voice.

I just discovered the blog today through myspace. I am a friend of Tina's from gradeschool...and I just want you to know that I read everything since K was born and you all are in my prayers. I live far away and know there is nothing I can do for you to help with daily life but just know you will have a prayer in me daily just for your family and especially for Kevin and his team of doctors. And not that this matters compared to what Kevin is going through but you have a VERY good read blog. I will have to read prior to Kevin too for some good laughs I suspect.

Hey, you two.... just wanted to pass on to you that as I have read your blog, I am continually touched by the number of people who have told you flat-out that they are praying for you all, and specifically for little Kevin.

We are moved to pray because we know there is Another who is in charge, and it is to Him we ask for favor, or blessing, or healing, or strength.... or.... (fill in the blank).

Prayer tells us a lot about ourselves, but it also tells us a lot about God (that "Another" I mentioned above). God loves our prayers. Really. He's wild about them. If there is anything we can do that God would consider precious, it is prayer to Him.
Most of the time, the book of Revelation receives attention for all the end of the world stuff it contains. But it also contains this great little kernel of truth about the God's nature and His love for us and our prayers in 5:8 and 8:3.

God collects our prayers. He saves them. He keeps them in a golden bowl and a golden censor. He keeps them close to Him. Communications from us are pleasing to Him. He loves to hear from us.

I am launching this sermonette to encourage us all to continue to pray. We pray because we love you. I also pray because I love the gift of life that God has given your child. I pray because I love your child, too.

And God keeps loves him, too... and He loves to hear from us about our love for Kevin. And we love "because He first loved us," as it says in the Good Book.

I'll step away from the pulpit, now, with this final prayer: Woo hoo God! Please keep that little one and his family in your hand and growing stronger every day!

Amen
