We take routine traffic violations very seriously around here.

This is a Youtube video of a guy getting tasered over refusing to sign a speeding ticket. This happened about two months ago, there is an ongoing investigation by the cops. The investigation was being casually pursued until the guy got a copy of the video and posted it on Youtube. I understand that most cops are decent, honest people but when they do abuse their authority, they try to sweep it under the rug. I also understand that every story has two sides and I am only presenting one side of this story. Feel free to call the Vernal, Utah State Police at (435)789-3111 and ask them why a guy who was obviously no threat to himself or the cop (his back was turned) got shot with 50,000 volts. I also can see that this guy was giving the cop a hard time. If I carried a taser at work, I would have a hard time not using it, it would work great when somebody takes the last cup of coffee without making more.

I saw that earlier today. I don't know when it happened but at some point tasering someone has become acceptable for situations that aren't that dangerous. Disobey me? Turn your back to me? I'll taser you. That's wrong.

I also have a problem with cops delivering search warrants by bashing your door in and shooting your dog but that's another story.
